I've seen some -6 fittings with an ID as small as 3/16". I run 1/2" aluminum line and -8 hose / fittings on mine. I had problems with 3/8" and -6 fittings when using a Carter 172 mechanical pump. That would give you an idea what it should run like or you could just leave it that way. A stock mech. fuel pump for an SBC is about $12 as apposed to $50-$100 for an electric one. I do this at every filter change and amazing how much still comes out. I like to run with as little fuel pressure as possible, hopefully 2-3 psi. You need flow not pressure. If you can run at full throttle from a start to max speed, you have enough fuel.
